Hi there!
My name is Julie Walker and I teach line dancing in Pambula, Sapphire Coast. I have recently been privileged to participate in the Cancer Council’s Fundraiser The Stars of Bega Valley, which is along the lines of Dancing with the Stars.
At present they are attempting to launch Stars of Queanbeyan, and have the stars but no teachers to teach those stars routines.
Therefore, I am emailing as many of you as I can to ask that you spare 1 hour a week out of your hectic lives to teach a star for this fundraiser. I have just completed my 2nd year and am looking forward to my 3rd.
So, how about putting up your hands for this worthwhile cause and help with this fundraiser. All it will cost you is, as I said earlier, 1 hour a week for approx 12 weeks (in my case, 5 weeks). It is also great ‘free’ publicity for your dance studios.
Have a think about it and let me know whether you would like to be a part of this fantastic fundraiser. All you have to do is teach a star a routine, you can perform with them or not……that’s up to you.
Please think seriously about this as we have all been touched by cancer in our lives and this is one way we can help to raise funds to try and combat this hideous disease.
