STRICTLY contestant Ashley Roberts has received professional ballroom training.
Ashley was given a tutorial on Latin dance cha-cha-cha with Dancing With The Stars’ pro dancer Keo Motsepe.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer was filmed during the one-to-one ballroom masterclass — despite her insistence it’s “foreign” to her.
The training with Keo, who has appeared as a special guest on Strictly, was recorded as part of Ashley’s 1st Look show on America’s NBC, which is still available to watch on YouTube.
On it, Ashley, 37, acknowledges she’s picked up helpful tips.
Standing in a dance studio in gym-wear, she tells Keo, “It turns out cha-cha is all about the hips” and “There’s so many quick steps and directions, if you mess up one step you’re like, ‘Where am I supposed to go? What am I meant to be doing?’”
At the end of the training the ex-Dancing On Ice judge and Keo are filmed outside after having changed into glitzy Strictly-esque outfits.
They perform a 40-second routine in which Ashley demonstrates the footwork she’s learnt, including twists and turns, a lift and being spun in the air.
A source said: “Even if it’s minimal experience it doesn’t look great for Ashley for this to come out. It’s experience not all her fellow celeb competitors have had.”
After being announced as part of the Strictly line-up, Ashley told new Virgin Radio Breakfast host Chris Evans: “I’m excited to learn a new style of dance.
“The Latin and ballroom world is foreign to me.”
And at the show’s launch, she said: “Dance experience?
“If there’s booty popping in ballroom, maybe that will [help], but I don’t think there is.
“It’ll feel very foreign to my body.”

In an October 2016 episode of her own show, Ashley had a tango dance lesson with Karina Romero, boss at Dardo Galletto Studios, billed as New York’s leading Argentine dance studios.
She has also trained with the Irish Dancers of Trinity and the Brooklyn-based Dance Soul Company.
They taught her the art of snake dancing before performing a sold-out show.
AMBO CALL BY WATCH
SUSAN Calman said her smart watch once called an ambulance during her training for Strictly.
The comedian, 43, who took part in last year’s series, has a device that monitors her heart.
Susan said while jiving “I heard ‘woo woo woo’.
She joked the watch thought she was “dying”.
